Terms & Conditions
These terms govern the use of this website and set out the basis on which enquiries are handled by Gridline Energy Solutions Ltd. They are written under the law of England and Wales.
1. About these terms
This website is operated by Gridline Energy Solutions Ltd (company number 17114100), registered office 2, St. Andrews Road, Carshalton, SM5 2DY, United Kingdom. By using this website you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
These terms relate to the website and to enquiries. Where work is agreed, the specific scope, price and arrangements for that work are set out separately in the quotation and any related written agreement, which take precedence over the general statements on this website.
2. Website information is general
All information on this website is general in nature and provided for information only. It describes the type of work Gridline Energy Solutions Ltd undertakes and how enquiries are approached. It is not advice about any particular property, installation or situation.
We aim to keep the site accurate and current, but we do not warrant that it is complete, error free or continuously available.
3. No electrical diagnosis from website content
Nothing on this website constitutes an electrical diagnosis, inspection, assessment or recommendation for a specific installation. Electrical conditions cannot be determined from web content, photographs or written descriptions alone.
Do not rely on this website to decide whether an installation is safe, whether equipment should be used, or whether work is required. Do not dismantle electrical equipment, consumer units, accessories or fixed wiring unless appropriately competent to do so.
4. Quotations and scope
Quotations are prepared in response to the specific requirements of an individual enquiry and are subject to the information provided, the assessment carried out and the conditions found.
Work scope is agreed individually. Items not expressly included in a quotation are not included in the scope. Where the scope changes — because the requirement changes, or because conditions on site differ from those assumed — the change will be raised and confirmed before it is carried out.
5. Existing installation and hidden defects
The condition and arrangement of the existing electrical installation directly affects what work is possible, how it can be carried out and what it costs.
Defects, damage, previous work, concealed conditions and other matters may only become apparent once work has started. Such findings may affect scope, programme, cost and the feasibility of the intended approach, and may require work that was not foreseeable at quotation stage.
6. Materials and products
Accessories, fittings, protective devices, cable, containment and control equipment are subject to manufacturer availability, supplier lead times, specification changes and discontinuation.
Where a specified product becomes unavailable, an alternative may be proposed. Where products are supplied by the customer, their suitability, compatibility, condition and compliance remain the customer's responsibility, and we may decline to install items that appear unsuitable.
7. Timelines and programme
Any dates or durations discussed are estimates. They are subject to access, site conditions, findings during the work, preceding trades, supplier availability, third-party requirements, weather where relevant, and the agreed terms.
No installation date, attendance date or completion date is guaranteed. Where a date moves, we will communicate it as early as reasonably possible.
8. Testing, certification and documentation
The exact inspection, testing, documentation, certification and notification requirements depend on the installation, type of work, client requirements, applicable rules and appropriately competent persons involved.
Testing establishes the position at the time it is carried out. Results, findings, remedial requirements and certification outcomes are not guaranteed, and no particular inspection outcome or pass is promised.
9. Third-party approvals and notifications
Some work requires particular qualifications, approvals, notifications, specialist contractors, distribution network involvement, building control involvement, landlord approval, managing agent consent or other third-party requirements. These are identified and confirmed as part of the project.
Gridline Energy Solutions Ltd is not responsible for delays, refusals, conditions or costs imposed by third parties.
10. Customer responsibilities
- Providing accurate and complete information about the property, the installation and the requirement.
- Ensuring safe and timely access to the property and to the areas where work is to be carried out.
- Obtaining any permissions required — including from owners, landlords, managing agents, freeholders, tenants or neighbours — before work begins.
- Confirming decisions such as positions, accessories, fittings and finishes in good time.
- Advising of any known hazards, restrictions, protected features or site rules.
- Arranging for occupants, pets, valuables and vulnerable items to be managed during work.
Inaccurate or incomplete information may affect scope, cost, programme and the suitability of work carried out.
11. No guaranteed outcomes
We do not guarantee, and nothing on this website should be read as guaranteeing:
- Any inspection, testing or assessment outcome, including any particular report result.
- That an electrical fault will be identified, isolated or resolved.
- Any installation, attendance or completion date.
- Product availability, lead times or continued supply of any specified item.
- Energy savings, running-cost reductions or performance figures.
- Suitability of any property for EV charging or any other future equipment.
- Any commercial outcome arising from work carried out.
No warranty is offered beyond those expressly agreed in writing for a specific piece of work, together with any rights you have under applicable law that cannot be excluded.
12. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Subject to that, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from reliance on general website content, for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business or anticipated savings. Liability in respect of agreed work is dealt with in the terms applying to that work.
13. Specialist advice
Some situations require input beyond the scope of general electrical work — for example structural, mechanical, fire, building control, network operator, insurance or legal advice. Where that applies, specialist advice should be obtained from an appropriately qualified party.
14. Intellectual property

15. Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
